A woman has been arrested after her husband reportedly took his own life when she “refused to have sex with him”.
Geeta Parmar, 32, a resident of Maninagar in Gujarat, was arrested by police following a complaint filed by her late husband’s mother-in-law.
Muli Parmar, 55, claims that Geeta did not have sex with her husband, surndrasinh, during the 22 months of their married life together.
Muli said the lack of sex left her son in “mental stress” because their relationship had broken down.
She discovered they were sleeping in separate beds after visiting the married couple’s home.

Surndrasinh revealed to his mother that he and Geeta did not have a “physical relationship,” according to the police report.
Muli claims that Geeta had “made a vow” not to have sex with her husband.
She says it left him in “mental stress”, The Times of India reported.
The couple’s married life fell into chaos, with the couple fighting frequently before Geeta moved to her parents’ house.
After attending a funeral on July 27, family members returned to surndrasinh’s home where they discovered he had committed suicide.
“I once walked into my son’s room and found out that he and my daughter-in-law were sleeping on different beds,” Muli said in her first briefing report.
“When I asked my son about it, he told me that they were not having a physical relationship because Geeta had made a vow not to sleep with her husband. “
The railroad employee married Geeta, his second wife, in October 2018 following a divorce two years earlier.
The case is being investigated by Shaherkotda Police in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
