NYSC closes down all orientation camps over fear of coronavirus

The National Youth Service Corps has released an official statement which confirmed the suspension of on-going orientation course at orientation camps across the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision was taken barely 24 hours after the third coronavirus case was confirmed in Nigeria.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page, NYSC authorities stated that Corps Members shall be posted to commence their primary assignments forthwith, while they shall be invited back to the Orientation Camps when the situation improves just like it happened a few years ago when the nation was confronted by the Ebola virus threat.

The management also disclosed that no Corps Member or Camp Official has contracted the virus since its outbreak.

The statement reads in full;
